State Fair
Last year I was out of the country during the Minnesota State Fair so there was no way I was going to miss out this year. We headed out to the State Fair on the Saturday before Labor Day. The weather was beautiful. It was sunny and in the 70's... perfect State Fair weather (particularly for a pregnant lady). We took the free park and ride bus from a church near to our house and arrived at the fair at about 9:30. After having a few breakfast snacks, we joined up with some of Eric's fraternity buddies and their significant others. In traditional State Fair fashion, we walked from booth to booth perusing the food options and stopping when something sounded, or smelled, irresistible. Eric and I treated ourselves to frozen pineapple on a stick, a milkshake at the dairy barn, cheese curds, a turkey leg and four or five bottles of water. In addition, Eric had his traditional pronto pup and was kind enough to share some of his "pronto" breading with me since the pup gives me migraines and I have to stay away from them. We made it all the way to about 4:00 before I was too exhausted to enjoy the fair any further and we headed home. We had only one regret and that was not stopping at the lemonade stand before walking out to catch the park and ride bus. Ahhh... well, that just leaves something for us to look forward to at the fair next year.
