More Projects
As is the nature of our home ownership style, we cannot go too long without starting a new house project. We finished the cedar shakes on the front of the house and they still look beautiful. But with every day we pull up to the house after work we notice that there's so much more that could be done to bring more curb appeal to our little home. Now that we have beautiful cedar shakes on one side of the house, it seems we should do something to balance out the other side. So we've decided it's time to add a little front porch/deck, a little spot for two porch chairs and a bistro table. While we were out planning the deck last week, two of our neighbors walked by and mentioned that they are having some landscaping done in their yard. They'll be having a concrete guy pour new sidewalks for them this fall. We mentioned we were thinking about the same and our neighbors said we should try to have ours done at the same time because it would be a lot cheaper for us than if we had someone come out just to do our place. So this week, we'll also look into the cost of having our front walk re-poured so that it drains away from our house instead of toward it. It could be a very busy fall, but the thought is that we won't have much time for projects after the baby arrives so we might as well finish them now. Then we will be able to enjoy them next spring after the baby is here. We'll keep you posted about our final decisions and progress.
