WCHA Final Five

Hold onto your hats Gopher hockey fans, the Gophers are on a roll! Though we've been loyal Gopher hockey fans for many years, I have to say that our confidence was a bit shaken this year as we watched the Gophers struggle through the loss of several key players and what appeared to be inexperience and major breaks in concentration. But hold on... The Gophers are on a roll now. The last several years, we've been saying the Gophers just peaked too early as they were handled by other teams in the end of year tournaments. This year, we're keeping our fingers crossed that this recent run in playoff season is more than just luck. We're beginning to think that the Gophers may be peaking at just the right time. But we'll have to wait and see.

Eric has been working at the WCHA Final Five tournament this week. The lucky duck... He's been experiencing the excitement of the players and fans first hand. Me? Well, since we got rid of our cable I've been getting creative so that I can continue to follow the games. Thursday night, I listened to the game on the radio as I ran to the grocery store and filled our pantry cabinet. Last night, I got together with a couple of great friends and Gopher fans and we hunkered down in a booth at Old Chicago to watch the game. Tonight? Well, I'm not sure what I'll be doing but I'll find a way to share in the excitement.
