Some Semblance of Normal

The guys were back again this past weekend to finish the job of concrete demolition and re-grading/seeding the yard. Since I had to leave before the job was finished I was very curious to see the end product when I returned from Toronto. Fortunately, Eric took pictures of the yard which I have posted in this blog entry.

The yard looks much better now. In the early morning and late evening, it almost looks like it snowed on our yard because of the way that the dim light hits the biodegradable blanket covering the grass seed.

The guys left a nice path for the new sidewalk to be poured, but unfortunately, it turned into a small river during one of the recent rain storms.

Surprisingly, after only six days the grass has begun to grow. As we stood out on the front sidewalk after work today, Eric and I noticed that there were little sprigs of green popping up through the blanket. After only six days, we have the reassurance that our lawn has started to grow. We're looking forward to next spring when the lawn thickens and continues to grow.
