We began the final kitchen project this week. We've successfully completed about one half of the tile back-splash. Unfortunately, we could only work on one wall because we have ordered a window to replace the one over the sink. This is probably the worst window in the house at this point in time because the screen won't stay attached in the summer and the storm prevents us from cracking it open during the winter. Hopefully the window will arrive this weekend and we can continue finishing up the kitchen. We haven't decided yet if we will grout the tile on the first wall before we finish installing all of the tile on the wall with the window.
Here's a sneak peak at the almost finished product. The tiles work very well with the cabinetry. We wonder if it might be a little bit busy looking next to the countertop but the colors blend well and it's growing on us. It really does give the kitchen a finished look.
Well, I had hoped that this would be the last week of work on the kitchen but it looks like there may be one more week to go. It will depend on how soon the window arrives and how ambitious we can be.
